“We are, ourselves, creations. And we, in turn, are meant to continue creativity by being creative ourselves.” Julia Cameron
Creativity is god’s present to each individual that shines finest when you continue to polish it. Maya Angelou has rightly said, “You can’t use up creativity. The more you use it, the more you have.” Creativity is an urge to generate or appreciate ideas, alternatives to regular possibilities in problem solving techniques, it is beyond ordinary ways of communicating with others, and entertaining ourselves. Creativity is all about rational thoughts and critical analysis which offers multiple solutions to a problem. It’s not what you do but how you do it.
In the modern times, creativity is the need of the hour, it is a key to development and parents can promote creativity in a child by valuing it at home by encouraging, self-expression and rewarding creative behavior. Another place to nurture creativity is school, where out of the box thinking can be rewarded and stimulated by integration and adoption of new curriculum and advanced pedagogies. Sarvottam, one of the Best International Schools in Greater Noida West, has devised and adopted new ways to carry out tasks, solve problems and meet challenges which paves the way for budding inventors and artists at various levels through integration of new techniques in traditional means of education. Great attention is paid here to analytical and critical thinking that builds an open minded approach which in turn converts a linear thinker into a divergent thinker, and helps find multiple or ‘never thought before’ solutions to problems. Hence developing confidence in children, making them feel more superior while equipping them to resolve their issues on their own rather than leaning onto someone else’s life experiences to enlighten them. Such an education can be termed as true education as it brings a fresh, and an unorthodox perspective to their work. It prevents one from making assumptions or biases and look at things in a completely new light.
Stress is laid here on fair use of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Creative thinking detaches a child from easy means of entertainment and helps keep children away from unnecessary digital screens like television and phones, as they constructively indulge in personality building and skill based tasks. It gives a structure and an outline to their imagination through tailor made teaching techniques that stay in tune with the developmental and emotional needs of a child.
The possibilities for creative thinking and imaginative play are practically endless. The benefits of such play are equally widespread. Fostering a child’s ingenuity and building up their self-confidence levels is the prime concern at Sarvottam, CBSE International School in Greater Noida Extension. “To me creative living is any life that is guided more strongly by curiosity than fear.” Elizabeth Gilbert
