Makar Sankranti Celebration-2021

Makar Sankranti (also known as Makara Sankranti or Maghi) is a festival day in the Hindu calendar, in reference to deity Surya (sun). It is observed each year in January. It marks the first day of sun’s transit into the Makara (Capricorn), marking the end of the month with the winter solstice and the start of longer days. Makar Sankranti is believed traditionally to mark the arrival of spring in India.
The Students of Grade 5 presented this aspect of their motherland through their special assembly on 14th January 2021 giving out the message that no matter which region or state of India they come from, they are Indians first and proudly enjoy and celebrate different festivals together.
